Hi Friend
Thank you for stopping by my little space on the web. I’m truly happy you’re here!
Writing is one of my many passions, so having this place to write and share my heart with you means the world to me.
I was born and raised in New Jersey, which I lovingly call my home. My parents immigrated from Portugal to the United States in hopes of seeking a better future with endless possibilities. I am the youngest of three siblings — Victor, Sandra, and Marlene — and an aunt to five boys and two girls.
I love to travel! I’m the type of person who will grab a duffle bag at a moment’s notice and dive into an impromptu trip. Portugal, however, is my home away from home; it holds my history, cherished memories, and a life of humble beginnings. I am bilingual and particularly enjoy reading Portuguese literature. Exercising, and playing the piano and guitar, are just a few of my many hobbies. I am also the co-founder of JD Photography, a passion my sister and I share, which began because of one little man: my nephew Jathan.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in 2016 with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Rutgers University. More recently, I earned a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University at Buffalo and I am also a Board-Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. By day, I work as a Forensic Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, but by night, I am a deep-thinking, open-hearted writer. As an ambivert, I thrive on quality time, cherish words of affirmation, and adore spontaneous acts of kindness.
I always introduce myself as “Stephanie,” but I love it when people call me “Steph,” even if we haven’t known each other for long. I’m all about meeting new people, so please stick around and let’s be friends! Mi (online) casa es su casa.
